My heart stops beating for you

Noise ridden wall of sound pop melodies fuzzy skygaze shoegaze hazy days; the Coves record has gone on my shelf next to JAMC, Raveonettes, Mazzy Star and all the rest. There’s a lot more to it than first meets the ear, needs uninterrupted listens in full, and has myriad sparkling & eclectic pop delights. One more after the jump;

  1. Oooh! That is gorgeous. Right up my candy-coated, rainbow fringed, slightly wobbly, yellow marshmallow brick road.

  2. Thanks for listening, glad you likey! The album is on Spotify if you have it, and I got my vinyl in the post yesterday (shame one of my vintage B&W speakers died last week). It passes the “one side of a tape” test as it’s a perfect 10 tracks and 39 minutes in length.

  3. Hi Blimpy, good choices. Happened to see Coves at Shepherd’s Bush Empire recently when they played support to Band of Skulls.

    They were good but the lead singer had the tendency to be very “Florence” like in a “floaty, ethereal, vocal’ style. That’s not a bad thing btw. 🙂

  4. Glad this is going down well; these two songs aren’t even the best off the record.

    Is the new Band Of Skulls any good? I quite liked the last one.

  5. I’m extremely impressed with your writing abilities as smartly as with the
    format on your weblog. Is this a paid subject matter or did you modify it yourself?
    Anyway stay up the nice quality writing, it is rare to peer a nice blog like this one these days..

  6. Hello there! This is kind of off topic but I
    need some advice from an established blog.
    Is it very hard to set up your own blog? I’m not very
    techincal but I can figure things out pretty fast. I’m thinking
    about setting up my own but I’m not sure where to start. Do you have any points or suggestions?
