The Wheel of Your Tune

The Wheel of Your Tune works like this; I metaphorically turn my spinning top to reveal a random letter and number.  The letter relates to an artist or the name of an album in my collection and the number relates to the track by that artist or on that album.  This week’s spin landed on R10.  My R10 track is Watching Windows by Roni Size/Reprazent from the album New Forms.  A lovely bit of drum and bass for a Saturday morning…!

What’s your R10 tune?

  1. My first thought was something by Todd Rundgren but I wasn’t persuaded by the 10th track on A Wizard, A True Star, so I am going with Happy, the 10th track on Exile On Main St. by The Rolling Stones

  2. Whilst I know it is of limited interest and unlikely to be even heard of by any other readers, I am going to choose The Rose of Avalanche’s Velveteen, which is 10th on their L.A. Rain best of album. John Peel was a fan, they were liked by goths, but not really gothic in sound, more psychedelic west coast filtered through the cold rains of Leeds. Enjoy Velveteen

  3. Surprisingly (to me at least), I find I only have one album by an R artist, Radiohead’s OK Computer. I never play it now.

I considered something off David Byrne’s Rei Momo, as that contains the kind of music my amour amours, but track 10 is underwhelming, so instead I’ll pick track 10 off Throwing MusesRed Heaven: The Visit. It’s not overwhelming but I like it.

  4. I just had a quick shufty at the covers of the first three Roxy Music albums and none of them made it to ten tracks. The Ramones first four all did – although track ten wasn’t a standout on most of them. The second album “Leaves Home” does have this gem of a cover version (of a Rivieras song) though.

    California Sun

  5. I’m listening to ZZ Top right now so it’s either #10 of Recycler or Rancho Texicana. I’ll stick with the former: Doubleback

  6. I love track 10 on A Wizard A True Star by the mighty Todd Rundgren. It helps that I saw the live show a few years ago mind, it was a standout. But I’ll go for a double R –
