The Wheel of Your Tune works like this; I metaphorically turn my spinning top to reveal a random letter and number. The letter relates to an artist or the name of an album in my collection and the number relates to the track by that artist or on that album. This week’s spin landed on A13. I’m conscious that not many albums extend to 13 tracks so you’ll have to be inventive with your choices this week; 13th track beginning with A, 13th artist beginning with A, 13th album beginning with A – then choose your favourite track…
I happen to have an A13. Go Ahead in the Rain is the 13th track on People’s Instinctive Travels and the Paths of Rhythm, the 1990 album by A Tribe Called Quest.
What’s your A13?
Alter Bridge – AB III – Life Must Go On
Morning, Leavey!
;o)
Morning DsD 😉
Am mobile too and cannot remember password, hence anon!
Trust all well and donds for All About Eve.
As I’ve ALREADY been beaten to Alter Bridge, lets go with the song my Walkman gave me less than ten minutes ago:
All About Eve – The Pearl Fishermen
On my phone at DsSis’ last Youth Orchestra practice of the school year, so CBA to fight with YT on my phone to find a decent version; sorry.
Found a truly AWFUL cover, and it’s put me off! Back to the Walkman to blast some AC/DC through my head – a band that didn’t do 13 songs on an album.
God I need this caffeine. Can a house elf please remove ALL the brackets from the above comment? Ta.
Done

I’d be happy for you to suggest another Alter Bridge track of you’d like. I just listened to @leaveitallbehind9 suggestion and quite like it, but have no clue where to start with this lot. Never come across them before. Alternatively, if there are no other decent track 13s just give me some starting points. If you don’t mind of course!
On behalf of Leavey – still mobile and no idea of password.
Track 13 of their second album is Wayward One but I’d start with their first (and best) album in its entirety: One Day Remains
DsD another convert! 🙂
I picked up One Day Remains maybe as much as a year after release.
It is UNDOUBTEDLY one of my Top Ten Albums of the Noughties.
Top ten ever!!!!!
Crossing the Red Sea With The Adverts
Track thirteen is the one which is now in some quarters considered rather topical:
The Great British Mistake
I have one album that just about fits the criteria, The Mothers Of Invention‘s Absolutely Free. If I count every sub-track separately, the final track, America Drinks And Goes Home, is the thirteenth. It’s the parting slash at the middle America of the late sixties: imagine this is the soundtrack to the party in The Graduate…. (is the person making the noise at the end having fun or not?)
#13 from the Alopecia album
Why? – By Torpedo or Crohn's
Lots of artists but like Sarah says few albums with 13 or more tracks.
Let me suggest Aruna Sairam, whose music I once shared on Earworms. Though classically trained in Carnatic music she is constantly pushing boundaries. And very rare for this type of music to have more than 5, 6 tracks in an album. Track 13 of Unnai Allal is an excellent example of how she reinterprets Carnatic vocals. Her album version isn’t available on YouTube. This is from her performance in a festival in UK.
The song is called Thillana and is about a mythical dance by Krishna. Rap Carnatic style!
Get Happy, from an Art Tatum compilation called Tea for two, @Ejaydee gave me this years ago. My favourite Tatum performance.
Get Happy
All track 13s – but some off compilations or albums re-released in other countries, some of the versions on youtube are not the correct ones for the actually number 13 tracks that are in my music files

sorry!
If you are wondering why King Tubby is in there my track listing from the album is just named as The Aggrovators.
I did wonder that yesterday but forgot to ask!
I seem to have The Aggrovators or King Tubby or The Aggrovators ft King Tubby and King Tubby with The Aggrovators all with versions of the track – so when I do the track list I just cut and paste from the youtube playlist – completely forgot to state why it was in an A -13 set! (it was off Creation – Rebel & Dub – CD 2 to fit the task – track listed just as The Aggrovators).
Excellent info! Thanks.
