Minor Victories – Higher Hopes – Vanwolf: Here’s a sweet track from the Minor Victories album of 2016.

Blues Pills – No Hope Left For Me – AliM: Trust me to put a downer on the topic … From their eponymous debut album (2014).

James Taylor – Mean Old Man – Ravi Raman: Any song that’s about a mean old man turning into a golden retriever puppy has to be about hope. At least that’s my theory.

Mahavishnu Orchestra – Hope – glassarfempty: An uncharacteristically short bit of uplift from John McLaughlin and the gang.

Diplomats of Soul (feat Noel McKoy) – Someday We’ll All Be Free (Yam Who? Remix) – severin: Well this is another triumph of hope I should say. My third earworm from the 2010 Luxury Soul compilation which I bought for a friend and thereby received an MP3 version for myself. A great bit of serendipity. I play it more than some albums I bought for myself. This one is a lovely positive vibe.

Bat For lashes – I Will Love Again – severin: The triumph of hope over adversity. From her 2016 album The Bride. Sounds very doomy for a song about hope but it surely is one.
