I remember when they all looked like that, look at those front forks, they hadn’t invented telescopic yet. I can’t make out what sort it is, do you know, it might be a BSA single 350cc. There were literally dozens of makes who’ve all disappeared, ie; Enfield, Ariel, Norton, Triumph, BSA, Velocette, Vincent, AJS, Matchless and many more. Can’t imagine riding a bike in English weather though millions did.
Super picture. I remember my brother’s motorbike, in the late 1960s – apart from the fact that he fell off it and broke his collarbone it was a bit of a liability as our neighbour’s dog used to chase after it every time he heard it – Alan used to have to push it 100 yards up the road before he could get on it (and dismount 100 yards from home on the way back!)

It looks like an old Ariel to me.
Great photo though.
Oh, thanks, Mitch: I hope you’re right because

No idea, I’m afraid, gf. And it’s Scottish weather he’s riding it in, not English!
Lots of Enfields still in India, goneforeign. What a great pic, tfd!
